Yosemite Valley Welcome Center — Historic Rehabilitation and New Comfort Station (2022–2023) - Yosemite National Park

Treeline Construction Inc. played a key role in the multi-faceted rehabilitation of the Yosemite Valley Welcome Center and the construction of its new adjacent comfort station—two projects designed to elevate the visitor experience while honoring the historic and natural setting of Yosemite Valley.

The Welcome Center building, originally constructed as a restaurant, had undergone decades of remodels and changing uses that obscured its architectural character. The rehabilitation restored the building’s original sense of openness and connection to its surroundings, reintroducing design elements that emphasize natural light, views, and materials. Treeline carefully removed and preserved historic woodwork, trim, and finishes, redesigned the interior floor plan, and installed new hardwood paneling, doors, and walls—all executed with close attention to the building’s historic detail and craftsmanship.

Adjacent to the Welcome Center, Treeline also constructed a new comfort station featuring timber framing, cedar siding, and an exposed beam patio. The facility includes two women’s restrooms, two men’s restrooms, and two family restrooms, providing 18 fixtures in total. Its design blends seamlessly with the Welcome Center’s architecture and surrounding landscape.

Treeline self-performed all major scopes of work for both projects, including structural framing, carpentry, finishes, and specialty installations, as well as managing quality control, safety, and project oversight in-house. Together, these projects exemplify Treeline’s ability to merge historic preservation, new construction, and environmental sensitivity in the heart of one of the nation’s most iconic national parks.
